Open Ateliers Amsterdam-Noord wordt mogelijk gemaakt dankzij de samenwerking met culturele partners in Noord. Samen bouwen we aan een bruisend weekend waarin kunst, ontmoeting en buurtinitiatieven centraal staan. Dankzij de steun en betrokkenheid van onze partners openen ateliers hun deuren, ontstaan er routes en activiteiten in de wijken en krijgt lokaal talent de ruimte om te groeien. Met elkaar versterken we het culturele ecosysteem van Amsterdam-Noord en creëren we een toegankelijk, inspirerend evenement voor iedereen.

Partners:

Stichting Kinetisch Noord is eigenaar en beheerder van de NDSM Loods. De stichting is in 2000 opgericht om de voormalige NDSM Scheepsbouwloods te her-ontwikkelen tot een centrum voor kunst, cultuur en ambachten. De stichting houdt kantoor in het markante oranje gebouw met de ronde ramen bij de ingang van de NDSM Loods. De NDSM Loods is in principe 7 dagen per week publiek toegankelijk tussen 09:00-18:00. Het adjectief “kinetisch” komt van het Griekse woord ‘κίνησις’ wat “beweging” betekent. Meer specifiek verwijst het naar de energie die wordt opgewekt door beweging.

NDSM FUSE  is een onafhankelijke, door kunstenaars gerunde presentatievloer voor hedendaagse kunst in de NDSM-loods in Amsterdam-Noord. Het podium voor onderzoek en experiment van kunstenaars en makers op  de NDSM. Onder de naam NDSM XPO tonen zij hun werk in het voorste deel van de presentatievloer. In het achterste deel en in de KINO, de SALON en de WUNDERKAMMER, vijf grote presentatievitrines, programmeert  NDSM FUSE  het hele jaar door wisselende gastexposities.

Treehouse NDSM is een complex van meer dan 100 privéstudio’s met gemeenschappelijke evenementen- en projectruimtes, open voor alle disciplines, zowel traditioneel als experimenteel.

Het terrein aan de Zamenhofstraat was tot 1980 een scheepswerf met een scheepshelling aan het IJ tegenover het Java-eiland. In enorme loodsen bouwden honderden arbeiders en technici grote zeeschepen die de hele wereld over voeren. Nu nog is op Halte Zamenhofstraat die sfeer te vinden van bedrijvigheid, zo kenmerkend voor Amsterdam Noord. Rommelig, onaf, ruig en productief, zo is deze plek het beste te omschrijven.
In deze inspirerende omgeving werken al ruim 25 jaar kunstenaars, designers en creatieve ondernemers in vele disciplines.
Op het terrein van Halte Zamenhofstraat zijn schilders, beeldhouwers, tekenaars, fotografen, keramisten, textielontwerpers, meubelmakers en edelsmeden te vinden.

Het NDSM Theater met het NDSM Cafe is een spannende, rauwe en industriële ontmoetingsplek waar cultuur en horeca samenkomen. Het NDSM Theater, de voormalige ITW, is een creatieve werkplaats voor culturele en creatieve activiteiten. Daarnaast is het theater zeer geschikt voor evenementen zoals voorstellingen, (zakelijke) bijeenkomsten, optredens, feesten en workshops.

PARTNERS:

Stichting Kinetisch Noord is the owner and manager of the NDSM Loods. The foundation was established in 2000 to redevelop the former NDSM shipbuilding hall into a center for art, culture, and crafts. The foundation’s office is located in the distinctive orange building with round windows at the entrance of the NDSM Loods. The NDSM Loods is generally open to the public seven days a week from 09:00 to 18:00. The adjective “kinetic” comes from the Greek word κίνησις, meaning “movement,” and more specifically refers to the energy generated by movement.

NDSM FUSE is an independent, artist-run platform for contemporary art in the NDSM Loods in Amsterdam-Noord. It serves as a stage for research and experimentation by artists and makers at the NDSM. Under the name NDSM XPO, artists present their work in the front section of the presentation space. In the rear section and in the KINO, the SALON, and the WUNDERKAMMER—five large display vitrines—NDSM FUSE programs a year-round series of changing guest exhibitions.

Treehouse NDSM is a complex of more than 100 private studios with shared event and project spaces, open to all disciplines, both traditional and experimental.

The site on Zamenhofstraat was a shipyard until 1980, with a slipway on the IJ opposite Java Island. In vast halls, hundreds of workers and technicians built large seagoing vessels that sailed all over the world. Even today, that atmosphere of activity—so characteristic of Amsterdam-Noord—can still be felt at Halte Zamenhofstraat. Messy, unfinished, rough, and productive best describe this place.
For more than 25 years, artists, designers, and creative entrepreneurs from a wide range of disciplines have worked in this inspiring environment. At the Halte Zamenhofstraat site you will find painters, sculptors, draughtspeople, photographers, ceramicists, textile designers, furniture makers, and goldsmiths.

The NDSM Theater, together with the NDSM Café, is an exciting, raw, and industrial meeting place where culture and hospitality come together. The NDSM Theater, formerly ITW, is a creative workspace for cultural and creative activities. In addition, the theater is highly suitable for events such as performances, (business) meetings, shows, parties, and workshops.
