Stichting Noorder IJ Kunst

Open Ateliers Amsterdam-Noord (OAN) viert in mei 2026 haar 33e editie, een bijzondere mijlpaal voor één van de meest diverse en snelgroeiende beeldende kunstinitiatieven van Amsterdam-Noord. OAN wordt georganiseerd door Stichting Noorder IJ Kunst, in nauwe samenwerking met de deelnemende kunstenaars en lokale culturele instellingen uit Noord. Zij leveren niet alleen een bijdrage via deelnemersgeld, maar doen ook mee met de organisatie. Daarnaast kan de realisatie van OAN rekenen op steun van Amsterdamse fondsen en sponsoren.

Als stichting zetten we ons in voor een OAN dat het hele stadsdeel weerspiegelt: makers uit álle wijken van Noord, met hun uiteenlopende verhalen, achtergronden en artistieke perspectieven. We willen kunst toegankelijk maken voor iedereen die dat wil. Daarom zoeken we de samenwerking op met culturele partners, verlagen we drempels voor deelname en geven we ruimte aan nieuwe stemmen en initiatieven.
Met OAN bouwen we aan een open, inclusief en toekomstbestendig platform voor beeldende kunst in Amsterdam-Noord – een plek waar de wijk, het publiek en de kunstenaars elkaar ontmoeten.

Stichting Noorder IJ Kunst

Open Ateliers Amsterdam-Noord (OAN) celebrates its 33rd edition in May 2026 — a remarkable milestone for one of the most diverse and rapidly growing visual arts initiatives in Amsterdam-Noord. OAN is organised by Stichting Noorder IJ Kunst, in close collaboration with participating artists and cultural institutions across Noord. Artists not only contribute through participation fees, but also take an active role in the organisation. In addition, the realisation of OAN is supported by Amsterdam-based funds and sponsors.
As a foundation, we are committed to an OAN that reflects the entire district: artists from every neighbourhood in Noord, each with their own stories, backgrounds and artistic perspectives. We aim to make art accessible to everyone who wishes to engage. That is why we collaborate with cultural partners, lower barriers to participation, and make space for new voices and initiatives.
With OAN, we are building an open, inclusive and future-proof platform for visual art in Amsterdam-Noord — a place where the neighbourhood, the public and the artists come together.
