Jay Tang is a freelance photographer and visual designer, based in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Fotovakschool Amsterdam with honours in 2015 and has since been on an endeavour to seek his path as a visual artist.
Inspired by his Chinese roots, Tang (1981) explores the usage of a variety of everyday materials, like paper, tissues and cling foil, to create photographic works that resemble Chinese paintings of landscapes and flora. In 2020, right before the pandamic hit The Netherlands, he collaborates with Anita Neve Galerie to host his very first solo exhibition ‘Everyday Landscapes’, featuring more than 40 unique works in this body of work.
This year, he returns to OAN 2023 with new work with the theme ‘Order & Chaos’ to reflect his view and feelings of the happenings around the world from past few years.
